Fantastic Performers at Winter Showcase 2017

Happy December!!!

This past month was full of fantastic dancing. We had another successful Winter Showcase. Congratulations to all of our performers that worked so hard. The videos of all the dances will be up soon. Have you started to think about what you want to perform for our spring showcase? Make sure to discuss any ideas and inspiration for your next performance with your instructor. Never performed before? Here is your chance. Start early, you will feel prepared and at ease.

We hope you all had a fantastic and relaxing thanksgiving. We are so thankful to have such amazing students.

December Friends and Family Group Classes!
There are 3 Thursday and 3 Saturday group classes in the month of December. These classes will be free to your friends and family. Know someone who has always said they wanted to try ballroom dance? Bring them along! Each group class will be a different dance. We will focus on the first few steps in each dance. No experience necessary!

Don’t forget we offer gift certificates. Share your love of dancing with the ones you love.

Save the Date!
December 22nd at 8:30 will be our holiday party!!! Please bring an ornament to add to our tree. I wonder who will bring the most creative ornament? Drinks will be provided. Feel free to bring a dish for everyone to nosh on. We had quite the spread at our Halloween party! Yum! Many of you have asked me what to wear to this event. My answer as always is something you can dance in! I (meg) personally will be wearing a festive, some would say ugly, sweater.

How to practice when life is so busy?
The holidays are such a busy time of year. Are you finding it hard to practice? Many of us watch a little TV at night. Use this time to fit in a little dance practice.
Try this commercial exercise:
– Car commercial: Rumba box during the commercial
– food commercial: stand in “frame” with amazing posture
– clothing commercial: salsa basic
– medical commercial: squats…come on. They are good for you 😉
– every other commercial: stretch (especially upper body to help with posture)

I will be posting my Pinterest stretching board to Facebook in case you need inspiration.
