Getting Married

This is it! Everything is paid for. The ceremony was beautiful. The dinner was terrific. But before the celebration continues into the wee hours of the morning, it is time for you to be introduced to everyone as husband and wife by dancing to your song. Make this moment as special as possible by learning how to dance.

As you know, there are so many things that go into making your wedding spectacular. Flowers, dresses, finding a reception hall, a D.J., the list goes on and on. Learning how to dance for your wedding is by far the most enjoyable part of all of these preparations.

All it takes is a few lessons to learn how to comfortably dance around the floor to whichever dance matches your song. Call Rochester Dance Lessons today to set up your first private wedding consultation. Bring your music in if you already know it or try out a few dances and pick your music based on your favorite dance.

Don’t forget to get started as soon as possible. You’ll never forget what you learn and you’ll only get better and better before the event occurs.

Wedding Consultation

On this lesson we will learn the basics of dancing. This lesson will get you introduced to the studio and the method of instruction. It will also give me an idea of your strengths and what you may need to work on. If you have your first dance song in mind, or even a few options, don’t forget to bring it with you.

Wedding Program

This program consists of five 45 minute Private Lessons. This program will allow us to learn a few moves to whatever dance fits your song best. By the end you will feel confident from the moment you walk out onto the floor, throughout the moves, turns, and spins, all the way to dip at the end.

The Extras

Father/Daughter dance? Mother/Son? The Father in Law to be with Bride? Then the wedding party entrance? I mean there really is no end end to the combinations and no end to the fun you can have with your family learning how to dance. Once your first dance is taken care of, we can talk about extending your program to include enough time for all of the extras.

When should we start to learn our wedding dance?

As soon as possible! Once your wedding program is complete, you will have your dance down pat and ready to perform in front of all your loved ones. Each time you practice it you will get stronger and smoother at it. If you learn your dance today and are getting married in 6 months it is only going to get better with practice. And don’t worry about forgetting, you are always welcome to a studio practice session at no additional charge.

What should we bring to our wedding consultation?

Please bring with you any music selections you are considering. Just the titles and artists are sufficient as we can play a brief clip of each song to learn the corresponding dance. Also, let your teacher know what your ideas were. If you had envisioned a very ornate, lavish, choreographed dance, then we want to know that in order to give you a recommendation of how long it will take to achieve that.

What if I don’t have a song picked out?

No problem. That happens all of the time. We can work together to help you find the best song. Often times in this situation, we start by learning our favorite dance and then narrow down to a song to fit the dances music genre.
